Solar-Powered Magnetic Mount Camera Systems – Models: SR2 / SR4 / BS1 / BS2 / BS3 / BS4 / BT1 / BT2 / BT3 / BT4 – Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the monitor also powered by an internal battery?
A: No. The monitor receives power via the provided power plug connected to the vehicle's power port (cigarette lighter socket). The cigarette lighter adapter is equipped with a red switch button for manual monitor activation.
Q: Can the screen be powered via a USB or USB-C interface?
A: No. The monitor may be powered either through hardwiring or via the supplied cigarette lighter power adapter. The product package includes a 12V cigarette lighter plug and DC power pigtail leads. In the absence of a 12V power port (cigarette lighter socket) in your vehicle, the system may be powered via hardwiring. The hardwiring procedure is as follows: the red wire is to be connected to the vehicle's ACC power source, and the black wire to the ground (earth) terminal. (If your vehicle is equipped solely with Type-C or USB output ports, you may procure a Type-C to DC power cord or a USB to DC power cord separately.)
Q: How should the U-shaped suction cup bracket be installed if no flat surface is available for attachment?
A: A white adhesive pad or a small piece of sturdy Velcro tape (both included in the package) may be used as auxiliary mounting aids for secure fixation.
Q: What are the camera dimensions?
A: The camera unit dimensions are 4.33 inches (length) × 3.35 inches (height) × 2.95 inches (width).
Q: Is the camera angle adjustable?
A: Yes. The camera head supports vertical pivoting, allowing the viewing angle to be adjusted according to specific requirements.
Q: Is an internet connection required to operate this backup camera system?
A: No. The system does not require any internet connectivity; it transmits images to the monitor via 2.4GHz wireless signal.
Q: What is the pairing procedure for the camera?
A: The pairing process is as follows. Please ensure the camera is adequately charged and positioned within 3 feet of the monitor:
- First, power off the camera by pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds, and wait until the blue indicator light extinguishes;
- Power on the monitor, access the on-screen menu, and select "PAIRING." Please note: in split-screen mode, the menu button is locked; the display must be switched to single-camera full-screen mode to access the menu;
- Power on the camera by pressing and holding the power button for 5 seconds. The blue indicator light will illuminate, indicating the camera has entered pairing mode;
- The monitor will display the camera feed upon successful pairing.
Special Note: When pairing multiple cameras, power off all cameras, then power them on and pair them sequentially, one at a time. If no image appears after pairing, power off the monitor and repeat the pairing steps above.
Q: How is the camera switch operated?
A: A short press of the camera switch button powers on the camera. A long press of 3 to 5 seconds powers off the camera.
Q: Is it necessary to manually power the camera on and off with each use?
A: No. The camera automatically wakes and begins operation when the monitor is powered on. When the monitor is powered off, the camera will automatically cease operation within 2 minutes.
Q: Why is solar charging not sufficiently rapid?
A: The camera's solar panel is designed with a compact form factor for ease of installation; however, the built-in battery capacity is relatively large. Charging a high-capacity battery with a small solar panel inherently yields a low charge rate. Consequently, the system cannot rely exclusively on solar charging. The solar panel serves as a supplementary power source to extend operational runtime and reduce charging frequency. Nonetheless, solar charging cannot fully replace USB charging, particularly when the battery level is low. A Type-C port is located on the rear of the camera, enabling alternative power sources to charge the internal battery. Regular charging via an external charger is recommended to prolong battery longevity.
Important Note: To conserve energy and maximize battery retention, it is advisable to power off the monitor when the system is not in use, which will automatically deactivate the camera.
Q: Is the camera's power interface a Micro USB or Type-C port?
A: A Type-C socket is located beneath a rubber cover on the underside of the camera for charging via a power adapter.
Q: How can the remaining battery capacity be ascertained?
A: The camera battery level is displayed on the monitor screen. Additionally, the blue indicator light on the right side of the camera provides a visual indication of remaining capacity (a red indication signifies critically low battery requiring immediate charging).
Q: How can I determine whether the battery is fully charged?
A: A camera battery level indicator is located in the upper right corner of the monitor screen, allowing real-time monitoring of remaining capacity for timely charging. The blue indicator light on the right side of the camera will display a full charge status when the battery is completely charged.
Q: Why did I not receive a response after sending a message to the seller?
A: Please verify that the email address entered is correct. Alternatively, you may contact us directly at: uswoocarty@outlook.com
Q: Can this product be hardwired directly to the reverse lights?
A: No. The camera is powered by an internal battery, which is charged via the solar panel or the Type-C cable.
Q: Does the camera activate automatically when the vehicle is shifted into reverse?
A: No. The camera is not triggered automatically upon engaging reverse gear. The cigarette lighter power adapter is equipped with a switch button; the monitor must be manually powered on when needed, which will subsequently activate the camera.
